Last year, the Supreme Court made major decisions on same sex marriage, voting rights, affirmative action and other key issues. This year, it will consider cases on campaign finance regulations and abortion, among others. As the Court nears the start of its 2013 Term, John Johnson, history dept.; Allison Martens, political science dept.; and Scott Peters, political science dept., will discuss the Court's decisions in those cases, discuss what's ahead and answer questions from the audience. The Department of Political Science will host a debate watch for the second presidential debate.
UNI will host a taping of Iowa Public Radio's show "River to River." The show will air the following Monday, March 5. Discussions will include the latest about the 2012 presidential election and Iowa's legislative priorities. Forum participants are Dennis Goldford of Drake University, James Q. Lynch of The Gazette, and Chris Larimer and Donna Hoffman of UNI. The public and students are invited to participate.
