Ken Smith, College of Pharmacy, University of Illinois at Chicago, will present, "UIC College of Pharmacy." His talk will include an overview of careers in pharmacy and an overview of UIC College of Pharmacy paths to admission and admission requirements.
Help clean up a portion of Dry Run Creek in celebration of Earth Week. Come dressed to get wet and dirty; bags and gloves will be provided.
Doug Cameron, a world leader in food and agriculture technology, will speak as part of Earth Week.
Athena Kildegaard, University of Minnesota-Morris, will read from a collection of her poetry, Ventriloquy. Kildegaard is the author of several books of poetry. Her poems have appeared in journals, anthologies and on The Writer's Almanac.
Abbylynn Helgevold, philosophy and world religions, will present a lecture title "Old" Feminism, "New" Feminism and Religion. She will discuss religion's role in shaping conceptions of women's empowerment and dignity through examining the "new" feminism being developed within and supported by the Catholic Church; explore the connection between this form of feminism and ideas about masculinity and femininity; and discuss the role of women's particular reproductive capacities in shaping the ethical vision advanced by the movement.
Kelly Nelson, MS, MT (ASCP), instructor, Medical Laboratory Science Program at Mayo School of Health Sciences, will present "Medical Laboratory Science."
