Local naturalist and historian Bruce Stiles will lead an afternoon walk through the prairie at Bennington Township Cemetery, located next to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church at 4110 E. Mount Vernon Rd. In addition to viewing the prairie, participants will hear about the history of the township and learn about the pioneers buried at the cemetery.

Tallgrass Prairie Center founder and advocate Daryl Smith will lead a leisurely walk along the trails of a highly diverse campus prairie planting as part of Iowa Prairie Heritage Week. The walk is open to the public.

This workshop is intended for anyone creative. Pasley will offer portfolio guidance, career guidance, creative guidance and more.

Bradford Tice will give a public reading of his work from "What the Night Numbered." He will be on campus in recognition of LGBT History Month. His book weaves together classical mythology with the events surrounding the Stonewall Riots, which is credited with having jump started the gay and lesbian civil rights movement.
Ali Tabei, physics department, will present "Roadblack and Obstructions in Molecular Motor Transport."
Jun Yan, University of Massachusetts Amherst will present "Raman scattering of H and T’ transition metal dichalcogenide atomic layers."

Sandra Steingraber will speak on the topic “Be Arrested If Necessary”: The Case for Science in Action. She will discuss the role of ecology and climate science in a time of climate emergency, the role of scientific evidence as an agent of cultural and political change and the differences between objectivity and neutrality. A book signing and reception will follow the lecture.
