The Final Thursday Reading Series will host Larry Baker, author of the new novel The Education of Nancy Adams. Open mic signup is at 7 p.m. and begins at 7:15 p.m. Participants are invited to share five minutes of original poetry, fiction or creative nonfiction. The featured author takes the stage at 8 p.m. followed by a short question and answer period as time allows. Free and open to the public. Join faculty in discussing Histories of the Dustheap. Histories of the Dustheap uses garbage, waste and refuse to investigate the relationships between various systems and shows how this most democratic reality produces identities, social relations and policies. UNI faculty and students, WCF Symphony guest soloists and special guests highlight eleven week of concerts at a unique venue. In honor of the 2014 UNI Earth Week Celebration, UNI students are invited to participate in an afternoon of relaxing yoga. This free event will feature certified UNI yoga instructors.
