Thursday, April 18, 2024 - 9:00 pm to 9:45 pm

View the evening sky at the UNI Observatory.   Constellations and other interesting objects in the night sky will be pointed out, and objects may also be viewed through the UNI telescope.  Meet before 9 PM outside of MSH 137, near the polar bear.  The event starts promptly and there is no admission for late arrivals.  Electronic devices, such as cameras, smart phones, etc, must not be used during the show.  No food, or drink is allowed.  This event is free and open to the public.

The Iowa Women's Jazz Orchestra will visit the UNI campus and offer a performance as part of Sigma Alpha Iota's Province Day event. The Iowa Women's Jazz Orchestra is a jazz big band made up of women musicians from across the state dedicated to showcasing and encouraging the participation of women and girls in jazz. This event is free and open to the public.

The North American Review has launched the Cedar Valley Youth Poet Laureate program! Based on the National Youth Poet Laureate Program, we are celebrating local young poets in our 2024 Commencement event, where the 2024 Cedar Valley Youth Poet Laureate will be chosen by a panel of judges on April 20th 3pm-5pm.
