Earth Science Week - Bad Movie Night

As part of National Earth Science Week, the Department of Earth and Environmental Science presents for its BAD MOVIE NIGHT "Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!", a horrible film that has an equally horrible depiction of science, specifically, meteorology, astronomy and pretty much anything that is logical. Siobahn Morgan will provide commentary concerning the bad science, as well as general bad acting and special effects. Free, but not for the faint of heart or anyone who can't tolerate bad movies.

Vox Peregrini: Transforming the Musical Ensemble Through Pilgrimage

Join us for a presentation by Dr. John Len Wiles (School of Music) and Dr. Susan Hill (Philosophy and World Religions). All of the major world religions value the pilgrimage or spiritual journey for its transformative effects on individuals and cultures.  In June 2015, Dr. John Len Wiles (School of Music) led a group of musicians on a pilgrimage following The Wicklow Way in Ireland.  Walking for hours every day, rehearsing along the route, and performing at the end of the journey was exhilarating, exhausting, and life-changing. Come experience Vox Peregrini through music, pictures and words, as we explore the multifaceted connections between music and pilgrimage. This event is free and open to the public.
