Trio 826

Featuring UNI School of Music faculty artist Julia Bullard and guest artists violinist Susanna Klein, and cellist Hannah Holman, Trio 826 will present a recital. This event is free and open to the public.

High School Band Invitational

School of Music professors and conductors Ronald Johnson and S. Daniel Galyen will coordinate a day-long workshop for visiting Iowa high school bands featuring Cedar Rapids Prairie High School, Oskaloosa High School, Clarinda High School, Earlham High School and Harlan High School. This event is free but requires registration. Contact music@uni.edu for more information.

Matthew Andreini, percussion & Randall Harlow, organ

School of Music faculty artists Matthew Andreini and Randall Harlow will collaborate to present a percussion and organ recital featuring additional percussionists from throughout Iowa. The recital will feature works for organ, percussion and electronics by William Bolcom and Jacob TV, as well as Lou Harrison's monumental Concert for Organ and Percussion Orchestra with ten percussionists playing a variety of unique, hand-made instruments. This event is free and open to the public.

UNI Horn Choir

Under the direction of UNI School of Music assistant professor of horn Yu-Ting Su, the UNI Horn Choir will offer a spring recital featuring community players as well as UNI students. This event is free and open to the public.

Recital: Daniel Grabois, horn

Visiting artist Daniel Grabois will present a horn recital. Grabois is Assistant Professor of Horn at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Music. The former Chair of the Department of Contemporary Performance at the Manhattan School of Music, he is the hornist in the Meridian Arts Ensemble, a sextet of brass and percussion soon to celebrate its twenty-fifth anniversary. With Meridian, he has performed over fifty world premieres, released ten CD’s, received two ASCAP/CMA Adventuresome Programming Awards, and toured worldwide, in addition to recording or performing with rock legends Duran Duran and Natalie Merchant and performing the music of Frank Zappa for the composer himself. This event is free and open to the public.
