A Night of the Arts for Autism concert features Sean Botkin performing Rachmaninoff and Kodaly and Celeste Bembry performing a set of Ella Fitzgerald classics. 

Under the direction of UNI School of Music professor and conductor S. Daniel Galyen, the Symphonic Band will join with the UNI Singers, conducted by professor John Len Wiles, to offer a spring concert as part of the Spotlight Series. This event is ticketed. For tickets, call 319-273-4TIX.

Guest artist Karel Keldermans, carillonneur, will perform at 12 noon at the Campanile on the UNI Campus. Bring your lunch and join us outside for a one of a kind musical experience! This event is free and open to the public.

Under the direction of UNI School of Music professor of tuba Jeffrey Funderburk, the UNITUBA Ensembles will offer a spring recital. This event is free and open to the public.

Visiting artist Anibal Dos Santos will collaborate with UNI faculty artist Julia Bullard to present a viola recital. Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Dos Santos has appeared as the principal violist of the Bogota Philharmonic Orchestra and professor at the National University of Colombia. This is event is free and open to the public.

Under the direction of UNI School of Music assistant professor of horn Yu-Ting Su, the UNI Horn Choir will offer a spring recital. This event is free and open to the public.

School of Music instructor of music education Michelle Swanson will coordinate this workshop.

Visiting artist Marko Petričić will present an organ recital as part of the 2012-13 Organ Recital Series. Petričić has won awards in numerous organ competitions, most notably the First Place at the San Marino National Organ Competition in California. His concert engagements have included recitals at the Church of the Holy Trinity and St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York. He has performed organ recitals throughout the United States, Germany, Sweden, Spain and Yugoslavia. He received his D.M.A. degree in organ performance from Indiana University School of Music and is currently teaching organ and church music at University of Indianapolis while working as a Music Associate/Organist at Northminster Presbyterian Church and also as an organist at Christian Theological Seminary. This event is free and open to the public.

Visiting pianist Arthur Greene will present a recital. Greene studied at Juilliard with Martin Canin and was a Gold Medal winner in the William Kapell and Gina Bachauer International Piano Competitions, and a top laureate at the Busoni International Competition. He performed the complete solo piano works of Johannes Brahms in a series of six programs in Boston, and recorded the Complete Etudes of Alexander Scriabin for Supraphon. Greene has played recitals in Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, Moscow Rachmaninov Hall, Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, Lisbon Sao Paulo Opera House, Hong Kong City Hall and concert houses in Shanghai and Beijing. This event is free and open to the public.

Coordinated by professor of composition and theory Jonathan Schwabe, UNI School of Music student composers will showcase their work in this spring recital. This event is free and open to the public.
