UNI will support local foods initiatives by having a farmer’s market on campus. The market is open to students, staff, faculty and the community. Farmers will have freshly washed, locally grown produce, while other organizations will be supporting local businesses and the benefits of a local economy. At 3 p.m. Kamyar Enshayan, director of the Center for Energy and Environmental Education, will lead a discussion in Maucker Union about local foods and issues surrounding the topic. UNI Green Project is hosting the event, with assistance from Green Life, Buy Fresh Buy Local, the Center for Energy and Environment Education and UNI Sustainability.

Renowned artist Gary Kelley will sign posters at the College Hill Farmers Market. Signed posters are $20; $5 for UNI students. All proceeds will support the work of the UNI Local Food Program.
