The UNI Tallgrass Prairie Center invites you to appreciate the beauty of native plants with a leisurely walk along the trail of a UNI prairie planting. Walks will be led by Tallgrass Prairie Center founder and advocate Daryl Smith and Laura Jackson, center director at 1p.m. and 2:15 p.m. This event is free and open to the public; bring a pair of comfortable walking shoes.

Aaron Walck will defend his thesis: "Changes in the proteome of the barley spike under drought and well-watered conditions."
Biology undergraduates will discuss their research from our Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP) in 20 minute presentations. Research topics vary from field ecology to microbiology to cell development. The presentations are for general audiences and snacks will be provided.

The UNI Botanical Center greenhouses and gardens will be featured in this year's Cedar Falls Historical Society Garden Tour. Tickets are $5 and may be purchased in advance or on the day of the tour at the Victorian Home located at 308 W. 3rd St; tickets will also be available on the day of the tour at each garden location. As part of the day’s activities, the Historical Society will offer two herb-related workshops at 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the Victorian Home and Carriage House Museum.
