Young Male Leaders: Boys on the Move!

Bring your special gifts, talents, creative thinking and constructive building skills. Extra time will be spent at UNII's Wellness/Recreation Center and other sites on campus! Have a little fun rock climbing, playing basketball, racquetball, table tennis, volleyball and more. Enjoy the pleasure of eating lunch daily at UNI's dining center!

Shining Stars Girls: Looking Ahead with Imaginations

Using environmental materials will enhance these learning experiences. Each student will have daily and individual access to technology as well as a wealth of children's books and literacy materials! Enjoy the honor of visiting various sites on UNI's campus and eating lunch daily in UNI's dining center!

Shining Stars Girls: Looking Ahead with Creativity

Learn how to sew on a sewing machine, do stitchery, quiltmaking, crochet, braid, create your own books and stories. Daily use of technolgy for each girl is a highlight of this camp!
Enjoy the experience of being on a university campus, eating lunch in one of the dining centers, visit various sites on campus, especially the Wellness/Recreation Center where we will try a little rock climbing (only if interested), volleyball, badminton, racquetball, basketball, aerobics and more!

Educating Educators Conference: Exploring Exceptionalities

This year's theme is Exploring Exceptionalities. Julie Landsman, author of A White Teacher Talks About Race, will serve as the keynote speaker. College of Education faculty will facilitate breakout sessions focusing on special and gifted education.This event is free and is open to all teacher education students, faculty, staff and community partners.

My American Dream
Submitted by Anonymous on Wed, 11/28/2012 - 9:00pmAs part of Reaching for Higher Ground events “Critical Conversations: Voices of the Cedar Valley” a class of 6th grade students at Carver Academy will showcase their photography and writing about the topic, “My American Dream.” These students, as a part of a service-learning partnership with a Wartburg College course, participated in a PhotoVoice project in which they took photos and wrote about their conceptions of the American Dream. This event, co-sponsored by the parent involvement committee at Carver Academy, will involve students, families and community leaders engaged in dialogue about the implications the students' stories have for practice, research and policy change in the local, state and national educational arena.
