UNIBusiness will host the Global Trade Issues Conference. The one-day conference will address issues of concern in the current global environment and feature speakers from businesses involved in international trade.

The conference is intended to offer information for Iowans doing business internationally, provide an opportunity for networking with others engaged in international business operations and offer a chance for UNI students and faculty to gain cutting edge insights into global trade practices and issues.

Conference registration begins at 9 a.m. and the conference agenda will include four main speakers, a panel discussion during lunch and networking time. Keynote speaker is Mr. Donald Tong, Hong Kong Commissioner for Economic and Trade Affairs, USA. Mr. Tong is the highest ranking official from the Hong Kong government in the U.S.

The UNI Entrepreneurs (UNI-E) meeting is open to all CEO and SIFE members and students interested in entrepreneurship.

UNI-SHRM is hosting Michael Kaplan from GeoNetric in Cedar Rapids.  He will be speaking about Social Media: LinkedIn.  He has asked that before the meeting that everyone connects with him on LinkedIn and sends him a short message (e.g. just Hi). It will be held in CBB 131.

UNI's Fifth Annual Elevator Pitch Competition. Winner of the competition automatically advances to the national competition which is held in conjunction with the National Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization conference later in the fall.  All expenses will be paid to attend this event, potential winnings are $2500. Open to public; families encouraged to watch their student compete.
