This event provides a venue for campus academic advisors to address information covering best practices, resources and campus updates impacting academic advisors. It is a come and go event with three sessions of workshops at 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. ranging in topics from career purpose/readiness, studying abroad, financial aid and transfer students.
Majors in Minutes is a way for students to learn more about a major. The process is similar to speed dating -- every seven minutes a bell will ring and you have the choice to stay at your current table or visit a new one. If a major sounds interesting, you or a group of students can sit down and visit with an upperclass student within the major to learn more. After the bell rings, you may move to another major. Go to as many or as few as you would like. All students are welcom.

“Majors in Minutes” is a speed-dating approach to learning more about majors or careers of interest to you. At this event, you, or a group of students, interested in a major will visit with junior or senior students in that major for five minutes. After five minutes, you can remain at that station or move to another station of your choosing. You can visit as many stations as you like or as few as you like.
This workshop is open to all faculty and staff to assist advisors get connected with campus resources and become more informed about services available. This will help advisors make more accurate referrals and be better prepared to advise their students. Attend any or all of the sessions as you can.
