Employee Benefits and Well-being Fair will take place.
Human Resource Services will host a discussion exploring the causes of incivility at work and provide skills as well as tools useful in improving communication. In today's workplace, one can observe a continuum of behaviors and actions that include rude and discourteous behavior and electronic incivility. Information will be included on how to encourage participants to model respectful behavior in their organization. Registration is required.
The P&S Council's annual "Meet the Pres" event will include an address by President Bill Ruud, recognition of the 2015 Regents Staff Excellence Award recipients and live music. Bring your lunch; desserts and refreshments will be provided.
UNI Employee Well-being will host a Friends and Family Social. Faculty and staff and their friends and family are invited. This event is an open house for attendees to utilize and enjoy all that the WRC has to offer, including the leisure pool, lap pool, climbing wall, courts and gymnasiums. In addition, two bounce houses will be available for children 12 and under, and children coming in costume will earn a special treat. Healthy food options will also be available for purchase. Due to a limited space, employees must register, and passes will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Jason Kayser, university fire and safety specialist, will present Fire Safety. A live demonstration on flammable and combustible liquid demonstration, along with basic fire chemistry, will aid in detailing the dangers and importance for safety at work and home. Registration is required.
Rex Butler will present Prescription Painkillers: Death and Addiction at Home and at Work. Learn how the rise in prescriptions for painkillers has become the deadliest form of accidental death in the United States and how to recognize signs to help others. Registration is required.
