Open to all UNI students, this non-credit six-hour course offers students an opportunity to explore answers to"what do I stand for?","What are my values?" Students will discuss how their priorities influence their financial decisions. Several paid internships will be available for projects after the course.

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs and the UNI Honors Program will host this session that covers the ethical principles and regulations regarding research involving humans, including the Institutional Review Board (IRB) review process and procedures. The workshop targets undergraduate students, but anyone is welcome to register and attend. Registration is required.

UNI faculty artist Ross Winter will coordinate this day-long event for violinists. Exceptional guest artist Laurie Smukler will appear. Smukler made her debut with the Cleveland Orchestra at the age of fourteen. A graduate of Juilliard, where she studied with Ivan Galamian, she was a founding member of the Mendelssohn String Quartet, and currently serves on the faculty at the Juilliard School. UNI will host the 7th annual Military and Veterans State conference. The goal of this year's conference is to educate campuses and the Iowa community about the military culture and the diversity service members bring to our campuses. This also includes challenges to the transition process and how campuses can best be prepared to help military members succeed. Additionally, we want to bring awareness to military and veteran students of campus and community resources and how to be successful after college.

Monday, September 26, 2016 - 1:30 pm

The Center for Academic Ethics and the Graduate College will host this workshop which will  help participants become acquainted with key ethical issues involved in research and scholarship. There will be presentations and interactive discussion on topics including integrity in authorship, data management and collaboration in scholarship as they pertain to qualitative inquiries. The target audience is graduate students, but all are welcome to attend. Registration is required.

The UNI School of Music will host the first-ever Midwest International Carillon Festival and Composer’s Forum on the UNI campus, October 12 through October 14. Carillonneurs from Denmark, France and the United States have been invited to play concerts and to participate in the conference which will be held on the campus of UNI. For more information, visit
