└ Breaking Writer's Block

The paper is due when??!

Writer’s Block
Assignment Anxiety
Procrastination

These are the “syndromes” writers use to explain why they can’t get anything done. They can be cured by one word: planning.

Planning consists of

  1. Getting organized: Assemble ALL of your resources—assignment guidelines, questions you need to ask your instructor, reference
    material, etc.
  2. Thinking about what you will do and why (to what end? to achieve what purpose? for what audience?)
  3. Committing your plan to paper. Make lists or outlines, do clustering, (mapping), or free-writing to dump out potentially-useful thoughts. These are all low-stress ways to make something happen. The purpose is not to meet high standards of quality, but only to make PROGRESS.

REMEMBER, SMALL STEPS BUILD LARGE PROJECTS.
SOME part of a project can be completed EVERY DAY.
