Mission Statement

• Our mission is to bolster student learning and assist students to achieve their academic goals.
• Slogan: “Taking learning to a higher level”

Our Goals and Objectives:

• Provide services that support student developmental needs and aspirations.
• Support the University’s high standards of academic excellence.
• Offer services at the highest standards of professional excellence.
• Ensure student access to academic support necessary for entrance and succeed in their academic programs and career aspirations.
• In addition academic and life skills support are offered to student athletes.
• Provide the Iowa community nationally standardized higher education and professional examination services.
• These objectives are accomplished by the following activities and programs:
  • Study groups (i.e., supportive seminars, short course, classes and workshops.)
  • Model and provide effective tutoring and tutor training,
  • Professional consultations,
  • Academic and personal counseling for athletes,
  • “CHAMPS Life Skills programs and other group programs for athletes,
  • Test preparation assistance,
  • Standardized examinations, self-assessments, and practice tests.
  • Assessment services and quality research activity to support decision making at the University.
