Speed Reading ~ Effective Study Strategies
PPST ~ GRE

It's never  to early in the semester to enhance your skills and learn new strategies for academic success. The Academic Learning Center offers FREE 4-week courses designed to help you read faster and study more effectively, or prepare for the PPST or GRE. Choose one or more of the courses to attend.
 
Below is a description of the courses being offered during the semester and on-line registration form. Take advantage or these opportunities to develop your reading and learning strategies. Sections are small, so space is limited.

  SPEED READING
  • You can develop powerful textbook reading skills.
  • On average, students double or triple reading efficiency in only four weeks.

  • You deserve the best lecture notes technique and textbook strategies.
  • Learn how to prepare for exams.

    		  PPST (PRE-PROFESSIONAL SKILLS TEST)-Reading or PPST-Mathematics
  • For students preparing to take or retake the Pre-Professional Skills test for admission to UNI's Teacher Education program.
  • Required text: PRAXIS I: PPST published by Cliff'sTestPrep, available in bookstores for about $17.00

  • For students preparing to take or retake the Graduate Record Exam - General Test.
  • Required text: GRE Exam, published by Kaplan, available in bookstores for about $22.00.
