Throwback - UNI's Homecoming celebration

Another Homecoming at the University of Northern Iowa has come and gone. This year's weeklong celebration featured new events including a Royalty Court and Homecoming Competition, as well as traditional events like the Panther Pride Cry, Homecoming picnic, pep rally and athletic events.

To win the Homecoming Competition, student organizations, fraternities and sororities and residence halls needed to attend a designated number of Homecoming events. Each event was worth so many points and the team who had the most points at the end of the week won. This year's winner was the team combination of Student Admissions Ambassadors (SAA) and Connecting Alumni to Students (CATS).

To celebrate this year's Homecoming "Throwback" theme, the Homecoming committee brought back the UNI tradition of the Royal Court. This year's Homecoming King is Ian Goldsmith, a senior majoring in theatre, and the Queen is Haley Minear, a senior majoring in math education.

And the winner of the ever-popular Panther Pride Cry competition – Orchesis Dance Company!
