Congratulations to the 2012-2013 scholarship recipients!

Jenna Rose Graupmann
Jenna Rose Graupmann

A senior theatre major, Jenna Rose Graupmann aspires to enter the world of theatrical costume design after graduating from UNI. 

During her undergraduate career, Jenna has designed costumes for the UNI Student Theatre Association's productions of Midsummer and The Yellow Boat. She recently held a costume and wardrobe internship with the Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre and has been employed in the Strayer-Wood Theatre's costume studio for nearly three years. She has also served on the board of UNI's Student Chapter of USITT and helped host the Costume Society of America Midwest's 2011 Conference. This season, Jenna's costumes will be seen on the Strayer-Wood stage for Cynthia Goatley's production of Lysistrata.

Jenna will also graduate with minors in Art History and French. She is prepared to use the tools that she has gained at UNI and is perpetually grateful to the professors, family, and friends that have encouraged and supported the beginning of her journey.

 

Jessica Moore
Jessica Moore

A junior theatre major with an emphasis in acting, Jessica Moore aspires to be a professional actress. She has interests in both film and stage productions and after graduating from UNI she plans to begin looking at graduate programs and conservatories to continue her theatrical education, especially in film.

During her time at UNI she has been cast in two main stage productions; On the Verge and last season’s Bat Boy: The Musical, as well as UNISTA’s production of The Yellow Boat. She has also served on several backstage crews and has begun to develop an interest in costume construction. This year Jessica is serving as president of UNI’s chapter of APO-TAP, theatre honor society. 

Joshua Dirks
Joshua Dirks

A senior theatre major with an emphasis in design and production, Joshua Dirks specializes in lighting and audio technology. Using his esthetic for design and an accumulation of his education at UNI, Joshua will complete a lighting design for November before graduating in December.

While at UNI, Joshua has served as the Technical Coordinator for the UNI Student Theatre Association as well as various positions for productions including Associate Lighting Designer for Mad Forest and the Master Electrician for Bat Boy: The Musical.

In the summer of 2011, Joshua worked at the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival where he worked with professionals from around the country creating the worlds of 6 different productions. In the summer of 2012, Joshua worked in an entirely different area of live performance, providing lighting and audio for concerts put on by artists such as REO Speedwagon, Justin Moore, Gaelic Storm, Warrant, Firehouse, Guy Penrod, and the BoDeans just to name a few.

Once Joshua graduates, he will continue to work in the live performance industry as both a theatrical and concert technician.
