First Friday

Strayer-Wood Theatre will hold celebrations following the first Friday performance of each of our productions this Fall. Receptions will be held following the 7:30 p.m. performance of "Lysistrata" by Ellen McLaughlin on Oct. 5, and following the 7:30 p.m. performance on October 26 of “November” by David Mamet. Celebrations will be held at the Strayer-Wood Theatre on the University of Northern Iowa campus.
“First Friday” is a tradition designed to celebrate our successes, blend UNI Alumni, Professionals, Stage, Inc. Members, and Students, and cultivate a community of theatregoers, lovers, and supporters of the Strayer-Wood Theatre. This celebration will help to cultivate a sense of community among Cedar Valley theatre lovers and practitioners, as well as provide Department of Theatre students a networking opportunity. Board Members from Stage, Inc., the Strayer-Wood Theatre’s Society of Theatrical Angels, Gallivants, and Enthusiasts, Incorporated, will be on hand to greet guests and share the benefits of Stage, Inc. membership.
"Lysistrata" will play inside the Strayer-Wood Theatre on the UNI campus. Tickets are $16 for adults and free for UNI students with their uCard. "November" will play in the Strayer-Wood Theatre’s Bertha Martin Theatre on the UNI campus. Tickets are $16 for adults and free for UNI students with their uCard. Advance purchase of tickets to the performance on all “First Fridays” is strongly encouraged. Tickets can be purchased from the Strayer-Wood Theatre lobby box office between noon and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The box office will be open one hour before curtain time.
