Professor Berghammer heads the Theatre for Youth/Educational Drama emphasis area in the department of theatre. In addition to her appointment at UNI, she is a Fine Arts Consultant to the Iowa Department of Education in the areas of drama and theatre education, past president of the American Association of Theatre in Education. In 1999 she founded the Sturgis Youthe Theatre, of which she is the Artistic Director. The theatre serves young people throughout northeast Iowa through various education and performance programs.

Dr. Edelnant teaches courses in theatre history, directing, and dramatic literature, directs and writes plays, and has served as Department Head, Director of Theatre, and Director of Graduate Studies. He has served as a consultant for various state, national, and international educational and arts agencies, has been a Sasakawa Fellow at the Japan Studies Institute, a Roy G. Carver Fellow, and has received the Regents Award for Faculty Excellence.
His research has focused on Vladimir Nabokov, and recently culminated in a production based on his writing at the Ravenna Festival in Italy . Recent production work includes The Wonder of the World, Sueño, Jasper Lake , Hair, A Dybbuk, and Assassins, and guest artist residencies in Illinois , Minnesota , Iowa , Arkansas , and Nebraska . He has worked as an actor and director in the Chicago area and around the Midwest . He serves as a consultant and evaluator for other universities, to the state of Iowa and has worked as a consultant to the Teatr Wybrzeze, Gdansk , Poland ; the Ostrovsky Theatrical and Art Institute of Tashkent, Uzbekistan , and Teatro Fanny and Alexander, Ravenna , Italy .
He is the Past National Chair of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival and a Governing Board member of the Association for Theatre in Higher Education. He was one of the founding editors of ATHE's national professional journal Theatre Topics .

Richard Glockner

Professor Glockner co-founded and was Assistant Artistic Director of The Actor's Space Inc. in New York City (an off-off Broadway company and actor training program.) His credits as an actor include such soap operas as One Life to Live and The Doctors, numerous theatrical appearances in New York City, regional theatre, film and commercial work.
Cynthia Goatley

Dr. Goatley came to UNI in 1992 after teaching at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota. Prior to that time, she taught at a number of colleges and universities including: Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota, Trinity University in Texas, and the University of Houston also in Texas. Her professional credits includes performance, directing, and playwriting with a number of theatres: Teatr Wybrzeze and Maybe Theatre Company in Poland; Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham, England; Red Eye Collaboration, Park Square Theatre, Penelopes Web, Outcaste Theatre, A Leap of Faith Theatre, Brass Tacks Theatre, and the Playwrights Center in Minneapolis; and the Burtness Summer Theatre at University of North Dakota, among others. Dr. Goatley spent two years teaching in Poland at the University of Gdansk having been awarded two consecutive Fulbright Scholarships. She continues to make regular trips to Poland conducting workshops and participating in such projects those about racism (The Ripples Project), child abuse, and ADD. Her play about ADD, Catching Butterflies, was commissioned by Teatr Wybrzeze in Poland and has since been performed by Sturgis Youth Theatre in Cedar Falls, Iowa, and in Sacramento, California. Currently, Dr. Goatley is Graduate Director of the Womens Studies Program at UNI and has recently been recognized with a Regents Teaching Award. In 2003, she was recognized by the American College Theatre Festival with a Meritorious Achievement Award in Directing for The Laramie Project. She received another Meritorious Achievement Award for directing The Singular Life of Albert Nobbs. She received a Jones Commission award from The Playwrights Center for her play Underbodies. Dr. Goatley teaches, directing, playwriting, feminist theatre, collaborative process, and others. She is currently working on an opera with a Dr. Rebecca Burkhardt in the School of Music, and a book about her two years teaching in Poland.
Tyler Stilwill

Tyler has been the director of the Black Hawk Children's Theatre since 2003. he graduated from UNI in 1993 and went on to MFA in Acting form Penn State University . Tyler will be teaching Voice and Movement coursework and providing dialect and speech coaching for the fall productions.
Steve Taft

Steve has previously served UNI as Head of the Department of Theatre, as Director of Education and Special Projects for the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center and most recently as Acting Head of the Department of Art. Other leadership positions include Head of the Performing Arts Department (Theatre and Dance) at The University of Louisiana and as Chair of the Department of Theatre at LaGrange College . He received an interdisciplinary Ph.D. in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Theatre with concentrations in Arts Management and Directing from Texas Tech University, an M.A. in Theatre from Missouri State University and a B.S.E. from the University of Central Missouri majoring in Theatre and Speech with a minor in Dance.
Although his career has been devoted to leading university academic departments, Steve has had the pleasure of working professionally from time to time. One of his fondest experiences includes the portrayal of Harry Mitchell in the Atlanta premiere of THE SUM OF US for which he was nominated for Best Actor by the Atlanta publication, "Creative Loafing". Steve currently enjoys a strong artistic relationship with The Old Creamery Theatre Company (OCTC) working as a director, actor and light designer. The OCTC is Iowa 's oldest Equity affiliated professional theatre located in historic Amana , Iowa . Most recently he portrayed Morrie Schwartz in the OCTC production of TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE. In November of 2006, he will travel to San Diego to portray the Gardener in Ruff Yeager's new work, El Jardin Secreto at the Vox Nova Theatre Company.
Steve has served on the Executive Board of the Southwest Theatre Association as Vice-President of Membership, as editor of Southwest Reports, and as Vice-Chair of Strategic Planning. On the state level, he has served as President of Theatres of Louisiana and as Chair of the College / University Division. In Georgia , he served the Georgia Theatre Conference as Vice-President of Membership, Chair of the College / University Division, and newsletter editor. He is a member of the Mid-America Theatre Conference and is an active presenter. He has had the pleasure to also serve as an adjudicator for the American College Theatre Festival (ACTF), the Iowa Association of Community Theatre State Festival and regional AACT / FEST. In addition, Steve continues to be active serving as a consultant and presenting workshops for various theatre organizations in Iowa .
