Mauritius featured on Arts Overlook!

We once again have the pleasure on being featured in Arts Overlook in honor of opening our show, Mauritius, this weekend. The episode is available on YouTube, as well as the several times it will air daily on Channel 17.

Graphics Lab Added to the Theatre

The Department of Theatre introduced a lab to the Graphics Room this Spring Semester. The purpose of this lab is to help the students with drafting and Production assignments. Mark Parrot was the head of this idea and he was very pleased with the outcome, “The Dean was very helpful with this endeavor. I felt it was important that our students get a lab in a building they would be comfortable in; before, we were in Schindler, and that was nice, but I like the idea of our students having a lab.” The computers will have Vector Works (a drafting program) as well as other programs.

Workshops Offered to Cornerstone Students

Students participated in a workshop in partnership with the Cornerstone class.

This last Saturday, the Department hosted three more workshops for any students participating in the Cornerstone program. The three programs, led by Gretta Berghammer, Amy Rohrberg, and Cynthia Goatley, respectively, were Playing with Spontaneity, Food for Thought:  Can it be Art?, and Creating Theatre from Your Life. These programs are here to encourage students to use creative thinking in hopes that they’ll utilize their learned skills throughout the remainder of their college career.
