The Graphic Technologies Lab
There is no better way to understand how something functions than to actually touch the device and learn how it operates during use.
The graphics lab contains a number of production processes meant to involve students in the actual creation of tangible materials that would also be found in the working industry.
This critical element many times plays a role in forming a student opinion about some segment of the industry, either through fascination with its processes or a definitive dislike for that certain type of work.
The lab has been transitioning for several years now from one where the primary graphic production process was offset printing and screen printing to a much more broad-based array of methods that are allowing student ability to place images on all types of surfaces, manipulate images in proper ways so they can be distributed via the unending collection of electronic media and understand the cross media environment we now find ourselves in as graphic professionals.
