Doctor of Technology
The Doctor of Technology degree program is intended to prepare and develop individuals for careers in teaching and leadership in institutions of higher education, and educational organizations. It is a terminal degree following a master's degree and based within the discipline of technology. The development of career competencies is accomplished through course requirements, internships, research activities, seminars, writing/communication experiences, and a dissertation which is a significant research effort by the doctoral candidate.
Doctor of Technology (D.T) Curriculum
For over 120 years, the University of Northern Iowa has fostered a premier teaching and learning environment. Recognition of the need to provide a broad curriculum of advanced programs leading to graduate degrees has been an integral part of its history. The University initiated graduate degree programs in 1951, when the Board of Regents authorized the offering of a program of graduate study leading to the Master of Arts in Education

The graduate program in technology provides candidates with a core of courses in technology, appropriate supervisory or organizational aspects, technical, research basics, and educational leadership.
