Module 6
Ethics, Introduction

In this module, you will:

  • collaboratively analyze InTime videos to determine how using technology can precipitate ethical concerns
  • critique the strengths and weaknesses of a classmate's Lesson Plan and modify your Lesson Plan based on a classmate's critique
  • reflect upon your experiences and learning in this course

An issue we have not addressed until now is ethical concerns when using technology. Of course, copyright is the first ethical issue to come to mind. Most people are aware that there are concerns that students will plagiarize information found on the Internet. There are concerns about "paper mills" where students can purchase completed papers. Most are aware of Napster and the illegal downloading of copyrighted music. Other issues include digital manipulation of graphical images that cause harm to the subject of those images.

In this module, we will look at copyright carefully, and we will address several issues dealing with ethics and the use of digital, audio, video, and electronic information.
