Module 6
Ethics, Activities
Each activity is based on your readings and evaluations of the videos. Within each activity below, you will find links to the materials on the Readings and Videos pages that will help you complete each Activity.

Activity 1, Introduction
Review the module introduction, objectives, and evaluation rubric.

Activity 2, Collaborative Activity: Video Analysis
We're going to use a Think/Pair/Share Activity to analyze the Ethics videos.

  • Think: Why is it important to teach ethics issues such as copyright, ethical treatment of humans, etc.?
  • Pair (with an assigned classmate via email): How does the use of technology create additional concerns to be addressed by ethics?
  • Share: Post one response with both your names to the Discussion list with the subject line TT: Module 6, Activity 2. Your Instructor will facilitate a discussion.

Activity 3, Lesson Plan: Sharing the Wealth
You had completed your Lesson Plan in Module 5 and submitted it to be included on the Class Roster page. Now, it's time to investigate the work of your colleagues.

  • Your Instructor will assign you a Lesson Plan to read thoroughly. (You will not be assigned your Peer Review partner's lesson. You will be assigned one that is completely new to you.)
  • Critique the strengths and weaknesses of that project. You may use the PQP process as a method of critique.
  • Submit your critique to both your Instructor and the author of the Lesson Plan. Please use the subject line TT: Module 6, Activity 3--Lesson Plan Critique.
  • Note: you will also receive a critique of your Lesson Plan. You may wish to revise your Lesson Plan based on this feedback. However, this is an optional exercise.

Activity 4, Final Reflection
Reflect upon the integration of technology into the curriculum:

  • What ideas did you find the most enlightening?
  • Which questions have been left unanswered?
  • What additional questions or interests do you have, based on what we have covered in our time together?

Send your reflections in an email to your Instructor, using the subject line TT: Module 6, Activity 4.

Activity 5, Final Evaluation
Please complete the Final Course Evaluation Form. Your input is very important to us!

Activity 6, Optional Activity: Instructor's Manual or User's Guide

Western Governor's University students may decide to use work from this class towards their "Capstone Project." If so, you must

1. Contact your mentor about submitting your final product as one of the following: email attachment, floppy/zip disk, CD-ROM, Web site, videocassette, or within a course management system such as Blackboard or WebCT.

2. In print format, provide explicit instructions on how to carry out the steps in teaching the instruction created in our project. Any information needed for carrying out the instruction should be provided to facilitate ease of use for the instructor or for the student if it is for self-directed learning. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Teaching materials (handouts, worksheets, etc.)
  • Teaching equipment (computers, LCD projector, etc.)
  • Classroom activities (pre-instructional activities; learning activities such as group work, presentations, and any follow-up activities)
  • Assessments (include any assessments or descriptions of assessments that are not already included in the actual lessons and unit)
