Activity
1, Understanding the Discussion List
Read Using the Discussion list.
This will help you understand how we talk with each other.
Activity
2, Icebreaker - Getting to Know You
This is like introducing yourself on the first day of school.
Please tell us:
1. Your name and location.
2. Your current work assignment - grade level, content area,
etc.
3. A single goal you have for this class.
4. On a lighter note: If you could be doing anything at
all, what would you be doing with your time right now?
Here is what you do:
- Respond to this Icebreaker by clicking Discussion on
the navigation bar.
- Read your classmates' posts to build a sense of community.
- Respond to at least two Icebreaker postings.
- Use the subject line TT: Introduction, Activity 2
for this activity.
- Use your name and location when signing all email messages.
- For more information on subject lines on email messages,
please read Using the Discussion list.
Activity
3, Getting Organized for Online Learning
- Tutorials
There are three
tutorials which you should examine in order to help
you communicate effectively and organize your class materials
better. The tutorials cover communications, email folders,
and bookmarks.
- A word about pacing
As you will see, all workshop materials are open for your
use (anywhere and anytime). You can use the SiteMap,
available at the top and bottom of every page, to explore
the workshop website. If you wish to read ahead, you may.
However, our discussions and activities are scheduled according
to the class Calendar,
the link for which is available at the top and bottom
of every page. (If you have scheduling problems, do not
hesitate to write to your Instructor using the Instructor
link at the top or bottom of every page.)
Now that you've completed these Introductory Activities,
proceed to Module 1, Office Software.
