This rubric may be used for self-assessment. Your
grade will be based upon the following criteria:
Exemplary
Discussion Contribution
and Reflection/Idea Generator
- Active,
timely participation in class discussions that incorporated
a clear understanding of course readings.
- Postings were completed before the deadline.
- Contributions addressed all questions asked.
- Responses were concise yet thorough.
- Responses to classmates' postings enhanced the class discussion
with additional insights, questions, observations, or suggestions.
- When appropriate, responded constructively to others'
ideas.
- Video analyses postings addressed salient points of the
topic in relation to the video.
- Response to classmates' analysis further expanded the
topic of analysis.
Collaborative Activity
- Fully participated in collaborative activity.
- Contributed ideas and responded to the ideas of teammates.
- Submitted assignment before the deadline.
- Responded to teammates in a timely manner.
Lesson Plan
- Clearly identified materials needed, procedures, and academic
standards and benchmarks.
- Explained the rationale for each of these categories thoroughly
yet concisely.
- Selected five or more optional categories.
- Explained the rationale for each of these optional categories
thoroughly yet concisely.
- Submitted the assignment before the deadline.
Proficient

nearly all questions.

to the discussion; there was excessive quoting from the
material without any real supporting evidence of how the
topic might integrate with their classroom teaching.

- Contributed minimal ideas and/or responded superficially
to the ideas of teammates.
- Responded to teammates in a timely manner.
- Submitted assignment by the deadline.

- Identified materials needed, procedures, and academic
standards and benchmarks, but elements or explanations may
be missing.
- Explained the rationale for each of the categories identified.
- Selected three or fewer optional categories.
- Explanation of the rationale for each of these optional
categories does not completely justify the selection of
these categories.
- Submitted the assignment before the deadline.
Incomplete

- Contributions were merely perfunctory.
For example, most of the postings were "I think
so too" or "I disagree", but lacked any argument that added
to the discussion, or there was excessive quoting from the
material without any real supporting evidence of how the

- Did not participate in collaborative activity, or
- Contributed ideas without substance and did not respond
to the ideas of teammates.
- Did not respond to teammates in a timely manner.

Evaluation Scale
A - Exemplary
B - Proficient
Partially Proficient and Incomplete need to be resubmitted
to meet at least the Proficient level. The highest grade possible
for re-submissions will be B.
