Jill Coyle is currently an elementary school technology coordinator in Gwinnett County Public Schools. Her job includes supporting technology for both staff and students in her elementary school. She spends after-school time instructing staff development classes for teachers to help them integrate technology into their curriculum.

She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the State University of West Georgia (formerly called West Georgia College) in Carrollton, GA and holds a Master’s Degree in Middle School Education from the University of Georgia in Athens, GA. She completed her doctorate in instructional technology and distance education from Nova Southeastern University in December 2002. Her dissertation dealt with integrating technology into the elementary gifted and talented program.

This is her 26th year in education. For the past 11 years she has been a technology coordinator. Previously she taught fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth grades in both self-contained and departmentalized situations in several Georgia elementary and middle schools.

In her spare time, Jill loves to play tennis. In addition, she is looking forward to resuming some old hobbies such as pleasure reading, sewing, and spending time with her family (three things that have had low priorities while working on her doctorate). Jill has one son, Matthew, who is 23.
