Module 4
Learner Analysis, Introduction

Objectives

In this module, you will:

  • discuss methods for finding answers to the Learner Analysis questions
  • analyze an InTime video to determine additional modification for Multiple Intelligences
  • conduct Learner Analysis on your Unit of Instruction

What is the next step after developing a goal for your students? You need to determine everything possible about who your learners are and what their characteristics are.

While this step is far more elaborate for those in industry and business, we will be using a modified version for our purposes. Why? Your learners will be rather limited. For example, in a sixth grade social studies class, you have almost exclusively 11 and 12 year olds who have achieved at least 5th grade skills.

Even within such a narrow population, however, differences exist. In Learner Analysis, you will try to determine those differences so that you can accommodate your lesson for them as best as possible.

Continue on to Readings.
