Learner Analysis, Evaluation
This rubric may be used for self-assessment. Your grade will be based upon the following criteria:

Exemplary

Discussion Contributions

  • Active, timely participation in class discussions that incorporated a clear understanding of course readings.
  • Postings were completed before the deadline.
  • Contributions addressed all questions asked.
  • Responses were concise yet thorough.
  • Responses to classmates' postings enhanced the class discussion with additional insights, questions, observations, or suggestions.
  • When appropriate, responded constructively to others' ideas.
  • Video analyses postings addressed salient points of the topic in relation to the video.
  • Response to classmates' analysis further expanded the topic of analysis.

Unit of Instruction

  • Answered all Learner Analysis questions thoroughly and completely.
  • Answers addressed issues covered in the readings related to the topic.
  • Submitted the Learner Analysis to the Instructor before the deadline.
  • Responded to the Instructor's suggestions, if any, in a timely manner that indicated careful thought and review.


Proficient

Discussion Contributions

  • Postings were completed before the deadline and answered nearly all questions.
  • Responses were nearly concise and/or complete.
  • Responses to classmates' postings did not enhance the class discussion, but did address the issues in the posting.
  • Video analyses postings addressed the basic points of the topic in relation to the video.
  • Response to classmates' analysis did not further expand the topic of analysis.

Unit of Instruction

  • Answered all Learner Analysis questions .
  • Answers addressed some issues covered in the readings related to the topic.
  • Submitted the Learner Analysis to the Instructor before the deadline.
  • Responded to the Instructor's suggestions, if any, in a timely manner that indicated careful thought and review.

Partially Proficient

Discussion Contributions

  • Some postings not completed by deadline.
  • Postings were too few in number, or too trivial to fully meet the requirement.
  • For example, most of the postings were "I think so too" or "I disagree", but lacked any argument that added to the discussion; there was excessive quoting from the material without any real supporting evidence of how the topic might integrate with their classroom teaching.

Unit of Instruction

  • Answered most Learner Analysis questions.
  • Submitted the Learner Analysis to the Instructor before the deadline.
  • Responded to the Instructor's suggestions, if any, in a timely manner .

Incomplete

Discussion Contributions

  • Most postings not completed by deadline.
  • Contributions were merely perfunctory.
  • For example, most of the postings were "I think so too" or "I disagree", but lacked any argument that added to the discussion, or there was excessive quoting from the material without any real supporting evidence of how the topic might integrate with their classroom teaching.

Unit of Instruction

  • Answered only a few Learner Analysis questions. Either did not submit the Learner Analysis to the Instructor before the deadline, or did not respond to the Instructor's suggestions, if any, in a timely manner.

Evaluation Scale

A - Exemplary

B - Proficient

Partially Proficient and Incomplete need to be resubmitted to meet at least the Proficient level. The highest grade possible for re-submissions will be B.
