Module 4
Learner Analysis, Activities
Each activity is based on your readings and evaluations of the videos. Within each activity below, you will find links to the
materials on the Readings and Videos pages that will help you complete each Activity.

Activity 1, Introduction
Review the module introduction, objectives, and evaluation rubric.

Activity 2, Discussion: Finding the Answers
Review the questions to determine Learner Analysis on the Readings page.

  • Other than simply asking your students these questions, how else might you determine the answers to the questions? Think of as many ideas as possible.
  • Which ways would you keep as your best choices? Why?
  • Which would you rule out as not likely to use? Why?

Post your answers to the Discussion list using the subject line ID: Module 4, Activity 2.

Activity 3, Discussion: Video Analysis
View the Harry Potter Research Project on the Videos page. Compose a list of ideas and suggestions to answer the questions found on the Videos page.

Post your list of intelligences and activities to address those intelligences to the Discussion list using the subject line ID: Module 4, Activity 3.

Activity 4, Unit of Instruction: Learner Analysis
Answer the questions on the Readings page for the learners who will be the audience of your Unit of Instruction. Enter your answers in the Learner Analysis section of your partially completed project template and send the template as an attachment in an email to your Instructor with the subject line ID: Module 4, Activity 4.

WGU Students: Read Chapter 5 in The Systematic Design of Instruction, 5th ed. In preparation for your Competencies Exam at WGU, you should prepare a table for Learner Analysis, focusing on Outcomes as a product of that Analysis. Please note that UNI Instructors will not be evaluating this form should you choose to complete it. It is for your reference.

Additionally, read this "Job Aid" written by Dr. Cynde Leshin. It is designed to help you prepare for your competencies. It focuses on the Analysis portion of the ID process.

When you have completed all of the activities in this module,
proceed to Module 5, Instructional Analysis.
