Financial Assistance

TEACH GRANT

Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program provides grants of up to $4,000 per year to students who intend to teach in a high need field in a low income school. Due to federal sequestration, the maximum TEACH Grant for 2013-14 is $3,760. TEACH Grants with initial disbursements after October 1, 2013 will be $3,964 for the academic year.

Scholarships

The Benjamin J. Allen Teacher Education Scholarship is open to all teaching majors. Students must plan to major in one of the teaching majors have a minimum ACT of 26 be a Iowa resident. The scholarship is renewable and is the amount of in-state tuition.

All scholarships can be located in UNI's Online Scholarship Directory. Depending on a student's major scholarship opportunities are available within the appropriate departments. Early Childhood majors and Elementary Education majors are within the the department of Curriculum and Instruction. All other majors check with your department for specific teaching scholarships.
