Welcome to the Center for the Enhancement of Teaching! We invite you to explore this site and we hope it will prove useful to you for a variety of purposes. You can learn about the Center as a resource for teaching and learning at the University of Northern Iowa, and you can find online resources to complement the Center's role on campus.

To begin, why not check out our home page features? The teaching tips may be helpful for faculty, and will change periodically. The quick links in the "What's New" box will take you to more information on the latest activities at the Center. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact us. Enjoy our website!

When you must be absent from class, tell students where you will be and why. Plan an activity that facilitates learning; find one that holds students accountable for their own learning. Recruiting an undergraduate or graduate student to assist the class can be a good alternative to your presence.
