UNI TAPP Student's Participate in
Gallagher-Bluedorn Activities
with a Dreamcoat Design Show!!!

On Sunday November 5, 2006, the
Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center on the University of Northern Iowa
campus hosted the traveling Broadway musical "Joseph and the Amazing
Technicolor Dreamcoat." As part of the Gallagher-Bluedorn activities for
this show, the Friends of the Gallagher-Bluedorn invited UNI's Textile and
Apparel program to create their own version of dreamcoats and display them
during the time interim between the matinee and evening shows. The dreamcoat
creations of UNI TAPP students were displayed on stationary models during a
"Friends of the Gallagher-Bluedorn" banquet between the shows. Below you can

After receiving the invitation from the
"Friends," Dr. Annette Lynch mobilized two of her classes to participate.
Her Costume History students created dreamcoats by re-creating existing
vintage apparel and her Professional Development students managed the actual
showing of the dreamcoat creations. All the students in Costume History
submitted dreamcoats and there was quite an array of super creations;
however, the students in combination with external reviewer Linda Grimm, our
current apparel design teacher, selected the very best 18 creations for
display during the banquet. Below you can see some of the upper level
Professional Development students who helped organize the show. You will
note their high level of Esprit de Corps, which is typical of UNI TAPP
majors!

Dr. Lynch and her
students should be congratulated for delivering the goods again, again!
