Introduction
Program City
According to the French magazine on international mobility, Vivre ? l'?tranger, Sherbrooke" enjoys a strategic position in the centre of a technology triangle made up of Montreal, Quebec City and New England, the historical name given to the northeastern American states.
Sherbrooke differs from all the other cities in the country because of its exceptional concentration of universities and colleges, all disciplines considered. Multilingual, Sherbrooke is also known for its socioeconomic vitality and the spirit of cooperation that prevails in the development of sectors of activity of choice.
Sherbrooke manifests itself five times over, with 20% of the population attending higher education classes. With 60% of its economy linked to the knowledge economy, Sherbrooke is advantageously positioned as an integrated university city, among a club of a few selected cities around the world.

Academic Program
Across its 230 programs, the Universit? de Sherbrooke offers an education at all levels and in all the major sectors of human activity. Its nine faculties: Administration, Law; Education, Physical and Sports Education, Engineering, Letters and Human Sciences, Medicine, Sciences and Theology, Ethics and Philosophy offer some sixty programs of undergraduate study (without counting the multiple combinations of possible minors). There are some fifty graduate studies programs at the Master's level and about twenty in the doctoral program including the research-based (presentation of a thesis or dissertation) or the professional-based that offers a program of courses. Many are given on a continuing education or part-time basis as are other certificate and diploma programs and micro-programs.
One of the greatest strengths of the Universit? de Sherbrooke is its co-operative study program: alternating study sessions with remunerated internships ("stages") in the workplace, to complement the knowledge developed at the university, with a practical work experience.
