Grenfell Campus is many things to many people. Our students tell us Grenfell is a place where they belong and feel a sense of pride, where they experience a student-centred environment – a place where they matter. Our surrounding communities and partners look to Grenfell for leadership, inspiration and support. Globally, Grenfell is a catalyst for collaborative projects and a channel through which researchers and partners find others with similar goals. And like the rest of our faculty and staff, I believe Grenfell is the campus of choice: a destination. It’s a place from which we can spring forward to realize our aspirations – whether they be rooted in arts, education, fine arts, nursing, science or social science – and make a difference.

Corner Brook, a small and friendly city of 22,000 on the west coast of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Our vibrant community is ideally positioned to host major sporting events. The best area for downhill skiing in eastern Canada, and for other great outdoor adventures such as canoeing, hiking, sea-kayaking, and iceberg watching. you will be just minutes away from alpine skiing at Marble Mountain, excellent cross country skiing, golfing, snowmobiling. The city is also a mere 80 kilometers (50 Miles) from Gros Morne National Park, a United Nations World Heritage Site.
Established in 1975, Sir Wilfred Grenfell College is a campus of Memorial University of Newfoundland, the largest university in Atlantic Canada. Grenfell offers the intimacy of a 1,300-student liberal arts college coupled with all the advantages of being part of a large, modern university. Our small class sizes and low instructor-student ratio mean that students get individual attention and develop excellent relationships with their professors and classmates. The College is a center for cultural activities with a number of theater productions each semester and on-going art gallery exhibits.
Exchange students take a full semester of courses--12 hours or more at Sir Wilfred Grenfell College. Semester (fall or spring) and academic year options are available. Students remain eligible for UNI financial aid and the?Study Abroad Scholarship.

Apartment fees are $1201 per student per semester. This will total $2402 for a typical year in the apartments. The rate for the family apartments is $2000 per semester. The rates include heat, light, telephone, and Internet access.
Applications for student apartments are available in the Student Housing Office, Residence Room 221. A $20 non-refundable fee is required with your application. You can apply online using the On-line Applications link at http://www.swgc.mun.ca/swgc%2Dres/housingAppForm.html for an apartment, or http://www.swgc.mun.ca/swgc%2Dres/familyAppForm.html for a family apartment.
All bedrooms (residence and chalets) are fully wired for both Internet and digital phone systems. Phone, voicemail and Internet access is included in the regular residence rate. Students may register at any time to have Internet connections activated.
Each floor in the residence has a large kitchen facility equipped with stoves, sinks, microwaves, freezers and personal storage lockers. Furnished lounges have full cable services. Each residence unit has a fridge and storage cabinet for food, and bedrooms are furnished with a bed with clothes drawers, desk, desk lamp, and chair. A Computer Room/Study Area is located within the residence for students looking to study or make use of the Internet service.
Each chalet apartment unit has a fully equipped kitchen facility with the exception of a microwave. Bedrooms are fully furnished with a bed with clothes drawers, closet, computer desk, desk lamp, chair, and a filing cabinet. Each apartment is wired for cable but it is the responsibility of the students to contact the local cable company for cable services. Cable costs are the responsibility of the students that decide to have this service, and are not included in the semester cost of the apartment.?
Our custodial staff cleans all common areas in the residence and chalets daily. Cleaning of bedrooms and bathrooms is the sole responsibility of the residents of each suite or apartment.
Residents may fill out maintenance request forms to have routine maintenance work done in their rooms by college staff.

Home stay programs are also an option, however accommodation costs are at the discretion of the homeowner.? Students must pay an initial placement fee of $250, which should be sent with the homestay application form. Host families will receive from the students $140($20/day) per week or $600 per month. Monthly fees are to be paid directly to the host family on the first of each month. Host families will provide:
- a private room with bed, bedding, desk, lamp, closet, bureau
- three meals a day, at least 2 prepared meals, depending on the arrangements between the student and family
- a welcoming, supportive, and clean environment
- inclusion in family activities
- assistance with the English language
- orientation into the community
- a non-smoking environment
