INTRODUCTION
The Exchange Program with Taylor’s College in Malaysia is one of the newest programs the
University of Northern Iowa offers. This program gives you the opportunity to study at one of most “international” universities along with
experiencing the excitement of Malaysia’s many attractions, from the beautiful coast line to the tropical rain forests. You also get the chance to find out what spelunking is!
KUALA LUMPUR
Kaula Lumpur is a bustling city of almost two million people. It is the home to one of the largest buildings in the world and it is also full of lively entertainment from local night street markets and Chinatown to the National Zoo and Aquarium. Travel outside the city and you can experience canoeing, snorkeling, hiking or many of the other activities this brilliant country has to offer.
Many large cities lose some of their heritage as they grow and industrialize, however Kaula Lumpur has retained some of that culture in it’s British colonial architecture.
TAYLOR'S COLLEGE
The college offers a variety of degrees meaning there is usually something for everyone. Taylor’s College also offers table tennis, squash, bowling, swimming, volleyball and basketball clubs. They also have many societies from motion picture and drama to young entrepreneurs. Getting involved in these different activities allows you to easily meet other people and get to know other students of different cultures.
ACADEMIC PROGRAM
All of the classes are taught in English. Each school has their own application date. The majority of them are either in September, July, or January.

ACCOMMODATION & MEALS
Taylor’s College offers students three different housing options on the Subang Jaya / Petaling Jaya campus. One is Taylor’s College Hostel, which is under 5 minutes walking distance from the campus. In each apartment can house up to 7 students and you
share a living room, dining and study area, however there is no cooking facility. They also have swimming pools. The second option is a private home stay. The Accommodation Service offers a list of options however the contracts are made directly between the student and landlord. The last option is private hostels located within walking distance of the campus. These are managed by private parties and you can contact the Student Services Department for more information. However, most international students stay at the Ridzuan Condominium, which is about a 15-minute walk from campus. They offer many services such as a laundry facility, cyber café and hair salon. This option is through Taylor’s College School of Hospitality and Tourism.
Students staying at Taylor’s College Hostels do not have their own cooking facilities but there are many restaurants near by. Students staying at the Ridzuan Condominium will have a kitchen,
and therefore be able to prepare their own meals. There is mini market in the vicinity for you to purchase your food.
