At present about 350 Russian and international students study at IBS. Every year more than 100 students go abroad to continue their education with one of the foreign partners of REA.
The 4-year programme of higher professional education leading up to the degree of Bachelor of Economics started in 2001. All IBS students have a chance to receive a degree at a partner institution abroad and a Russian degree of Bachelor of Economics from Plekhanov Russian Academy of Economics.
In 2006 the Bachelor of Economics programme was accredited by the European Council for Business Education.
In 2010 IBS-Plekhanov started the higher professional education programme leading up to the degree of Master of Economics in the area of International Corporate Finance.
The leading teaching staff of Plekhanov Russian Academy of Economics and invited lectures from the leading Russian, U.S. and European universities, prominent specialist in economics, finance and banking teach at IBS-Plekhanov.
IBS graduates work for PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Ernst & Young, Deloitte & Touche, McKinsey, Vneshtorgbank, DeutscheBank Moscow, Nestle, Philips, Samsung Electronics, Procter and Gamble, Sun Interbrew, Unilever, L’Oreal, Korkunov and many other companies.
Program City
Moscow has been the capital city for the Russian Federation since its founding in 1991. Before that is was the seat of power for the Soviet Union, but Moscow has a rich history which started long before even that. The city is covered in historical architecture - old churches, soviet era buildings, and the Kremlin right at the city's heart. Currently Moscow has a population of over 10.5 million people. That makes it not only the largest city in all of Russia, but the largest city in the whole of Europe. Being such a large city, Moscow is very spread out. This makes the city's metro system a very nice and convinient way to get around. From its business centers to its shopping malls, everyone can find something to do in Moscow.
Institution
Founded in 1907, the Plekhanov Russian Academy of Economics was one of the first institutions in Russia which trained and prepared businessmen for the rapidly developing industry of Russia. Since its founding, the university has been a leader in its field. It currently has the highest level of accreditation by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia and is one of the top ranked universities in the country.
