Study Abroad Photo Essay Contest

The Annual Study Abroad Photo Essay Contest is established to recognize UNI students’ courage to take a trip overseas with the goal of studying or conducting internships abroad. These individuals were not only open-minded and adventurous to undertake such a journey, but also they proved to be responsible to plan ahead, budget their time and money, and successfully complete their academic experience overseas.

The contest takes place in April of each academic year. Previous and current study abroad participants are welcome to take part by creating a visual essay account of their international experiences.

There are monetary awards granted to three winners:

• 1st place: $75 and certificate of recognition
• 2nd place: $50 and certificate of recognition
• 3rd place: $25 and certificate of recognition

The deadline for submitting photo essays is March 31, the awards are announced on April 15. Photo essays should be submitted to the Study Abroad Center, 59 Baker Hall in electronic portable format (on a disk).
