In the future, NCCU will pass on the outstanding traditions of humanities and social sciences, balancing both teaching and research, theory and practice, internationalization and domestication in academic disciplines including humanities, social sciences, law, business and communications, reinforce dialogues between humanities, technology and society, and promote multi-variant academic research development. Our vision is to build a first-rate international humanities and social sciences academic temple, and nurture “Humane, Global, Innovative” successors for the new century.
Program City
Located in the beautiful city of Taipei City, Taiwan, The National Chengchi University (NCCU) was established in 1927. NCCU is noted for its humanities and social sciences disciplines and currently housing 9 colleges.
NCCU is located in the Wenshan District of Taipei City, Taiwan. Taipei City is surrounded by mountains to the north, east and south, and by the Danshui River to the west. As a result, it is endowed with unique natural scenery, with lush forests and winding rivers, and a variety of fascinating terrains, including volcanic mountains, foothills, terrace tablelands, coastal plains and river wetlands.

Established in 1927, NCCU is noted for its humanities and social sciences disciplines and currently housing 9 colleges, including liberal arts, science, social sciences, law, commerce, foreign languages literature, communication, international affairs and education; 33 departments, 2 BA modules (Undergraduate Program in European Languages and College of Communication Undergraduate Degree Program), and 48 graduate institutes (including master's module), with 32 graduate institutes offering PhD programs, 16 on-the-job master's programs, and 5 English-taught degree programs (International Master's Program in Taiwan Studies, International Master's Program in China Studies, International Master of Business Administration, International Master's Program in International Communication Studies, and International Doctor Program in Asia-Pacific Studies).

Academic Program
NCCU offers over 500 English taught courses, as well as a number of English taught International Programs at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels. Courses are offered on a semester basis. Our Fall semester is from September to January and our Spring semester is from February to June.
Mandarin classes offered by the Chinese Language Center are fee-paying programs. Unless otherwise stated on the agreement, exchange students will have to pay tuition fees for these classes. Degree-seeking students may apply for the Mandarin Scholarship that allows the student to take courses free of charge.

Accommodation & Meals
International students not residing in Taiwan are given first priority and applications to dorm accommodations must be made at least two months prior to entrance in our University. There are no coed dormitories at NCCU. Graduate students are housed in single or double rooms which are furnished though students must make arrangements for their own mattress, bedding, linens, etc.
Laundry, food, and entertainment facilities are also available at the dormitories however; cooking is prohibited. Student Handbook
