**Submissions for Scholar-Orientation Model Programs--Deadline September 12**
NAFSA is seeking submissions of scholar-orientation programs for a new model
programs resource on the Web. This resource will feature samples of
scholar-orientation programming. The model programs will assist international
educators in developing and improving scholar orientations at their
institutions. The scholar-orientation model program resource will be available

**Submissions for International-Alumni Model Programs--Deadline September 26**
NAFSA is seeking submissions for a new Web-based model programs publication on
international-alumni programs. The model programs will provide international
educators effective ideas for developing and improving their institution's
international-alumni programs. This model programs resource will be available
winter 2004. The deadline for submission is September 26, 2003. Download a

**Goldman Sachs Prizes for Excellence in International Education--Deadline
September 30**
The Goldman Sachs Foundation and Asia Society are offering five $25,000 prizes
to support creative and practical models of international education in action.
The annual prizes will recognize schools, higher education, states, and
media/technology organizations that are working to put the world into
world-class education. Application deadline is September 30. For more

**COOP Mini-Grants Available--Deadline October 1, 2003**
COOP is accepting proposals for its Fall Mini-Grant competition. Mini-Grants are
awards of up to $2,000. Proposals must be received by October 1, 2003. For more

**Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad Program--Deadline October 14**
The Department of Education's Office of Postsecondary Education is seeking
applications for the Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad Program, which
supports overseas projects in training, research, and curriculum development in
modern foreign languages and area studies. Projects may include short-term
seminars, curriculum development, or group research or study. Forty grants
ranging from $50,000 to $80,000 will be awarded. Deadline for application is

**'Internationalizing the Campus' Nominations--Deadline October 17**
NAFSA is seeking nominations for institutions to be profiled in the 2004 edition
of "Internationalizing the Campus." The report, which highlights U.S.
colleges and universities engaged in exemplary initiatives in international
education, will include campus-wide profiles of 4-5 institutions where an
international perspective permeates the institutional culture as
well as 8-10 program/area spotlights describing specific institutional programs
or areas of strength in the internationalization arena. The report is funded by
DOS's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and Educational Testing
Service, a NAFSA Global Partner. Nominations will be accepted through October

Dissertation Research Abroad Fellowship Program, which provides opportunities
for graduate students to engage in full-time dissertation research abroad in
modern foreign languages and area studies. Priority will be given to projects
that focus on one or more of the following areas: Africa, East Asia, Southeast
