Pre-Departure Orientation
A mandatory Know Before You Go general orientation will be offered twice a year. The fall orientation usually takes place in November/December and is for spring program participants. The second orientation is in the spring for summer, fall and academic year participants. UNI professors leading group programs abroad may also schedule one or more additional on-campus orientation meetings during the semester prior to your departure. Students accepted to participate in our programs are notified by e-mail once these meetings are scheduled. We provide informational packets and discuss a wide range of topics pertinent to the particular program. Attendance is required and your questions are expected and welcomed. Non-UNI students who are unable to attend will receive orientation materials by mail. UNI students participating in non-UNI programs are also encouraged to attend.
