Christopher Corday: Has been working at GMAC Mortgage (3.5 million customers, 900 employees) for 11 years School background is not in HR, but he found that this is what he is passionate about Gave the example that if the only time the football team played football was during games they wouldn’t do so hot so we really should practice interviewing b/c you don’t want the real situation to be the only time you answer interview questions—practice makes perfect! Behavior –based interviews means giving examples, even if the interviewer doesn’t ask for examples, give them, showcase your talents and experience. He sees job descriptions as essentially wish lists- no person will ever have all the qualifications, etc, but can you show confidence and aptitude to learn Change your voicemail (more professional) and edit your facebook/myspace page!! Be sure and send thank you emails after an interview, say thank you for your time, etc Take Your Business Card Everywhere - always looking for possible connections, etc Don’t just blindly apply for a job or send a resume- always follow up, call and check on status, did they receive it? Try to get an actual HR person’s email or phone number to contact directly
