Raising money is the ultimate goal of the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. 100% of money raised goes to the American Cancer Society. You can view exactly how the ACS spends their money on our link to the American Cancer Society.
In 2003 there were 150 collegiate Relays, which raised 4.5 million for the American Cancer Society. In 2004 there were 225 collegiate relays, which raised 7.5 million for the ACS.
Our Relay For Life committee this year has set a goal to raise over $100,000. We need your help to reach this goal. To raise $100,000, we ask that each participant tries their best to raise at least $100.
The key to raising money is to ask everyone you know for a donation. Ask your friends, family, neighbors, teachers, church members, and even people you do not know. Most people are willing to donate money to the American Cancer Society, so make sure you say the money we raise for the UNI Relay For life is all donated to the American Cancer Society.
We have made it very simple for you this year to raise your $100. Use our registration and fundraising website to e-mail friends and family letters we already have written for you. If you e-mail or mail those letters to at least 15 friends and family, you will raise more than your $100.
We are also sponsoring a few contests for teams to participate in. Check out the links below to see if you can participate in one of the challenges. Teams must register on our scheduled Bank Night. See the Calendar of Events for more information about Bank Night. Also, more than one team of 8-15 people can register for the challenges. Each team must be a constituent of the same house, hall, sorority or fraternity, or student organization to register together for the competition.
