Pride Week -- Beyond the Binary

Here is a list of our events for Pride week! Join UNI Proud as they celebrate Pride week by exploring what is beyond the gender binary of male and female.

UNI Proud Film Night: Red Without Blue
When: Monday, March 28th at 7 pm
Where: Oak Room
What: This film documents three years in the lives of identical twins Mark and Alex Farley as they come to terms not only with Mark's homosexuality, but also with Alex's decision to transition from male to female.

Annual Drag Ball
When: Tuesday, March 29th at 8pm
Where: Maucker Union Main Floor
What: Come join professional and student performers in the Union for a night of gender-bending fun! Tipping is customary but not required. All proceeds go to Community Aids Assistance Project.

Guest Speaker: Kate Bornstein: "On Men, Women, and the Rest of Us"
When: Wednesday, March 30th at 8pm
Where: Lang Hall Auditorium
What: On Men, Women, and the Rest of Us is an entertaining introduction to the notion of sex and gender beyond the binary—as well as a deeply moving affirmation of spirit for sex-and-gender outlaws. If you don’t mind the f-word every now and then, the show is even child-friendly.

Talkback with Kate Bornstein
When: Thursday, March 31st at 9am
Where: CME
What: Join author and performer Kate Bornstein for a more intimate look into her life as a performer and author who breaks the gender binary rules.
