UNI Pre-Medical Club

UNIPEP

UNI is the place to be for pre-medical studies. The new UNIPEP (Pre-Medical Enrichment Program) is a reaction to the demands of medical school admissions. The purpose of the program is to increase the credentials of UNI pre-medical students and attract diversity. Our bottom line is to produce excellent medical candidates and support one another in the pursuit of success. The pre-medical enrichment program is designed to do several things. Some are:

Gain clinical experience

Provide leadership opportunities

Peer support group

Attract, encourage, and honor diversity

Coordinate community service projects

Establish a network with community health care providers

Connect UNI pre-medical students with the community

Help students find research opportunities

UNI College of Natural Sciences has been successful in providing students with the classes required for medical school entrance. The PEP program will enrich their credentials to medical schools and will help UNI produce a more prepared and humanitarian future physician. Through UNIPEP students can experience the life of a physician and be involved in the community as well as receive acknowledgement for doing so. The program is set up for students to earn points for their service to the community, fellow classmates and diversifying themselves. When sufficient points are achieved the student will receive a certificate of achievement/participation awarded by the pre-medical club and endorsed by the Biology department.
