Monday, January 23 - 9/11 Film Series - Free Speech in Times of National Crisis
7 PM - Center for Multicultural Education
As part of an ongoing 9/11 film series, there will be a screening of the film Watch What You Say: Free Speech in Times of National Crisis will be followed by a discussion of free speech rights.

Thursday, January 26 - Gay/Straight Alliance Improv Troupe
8 PM - Maucker Union Coffeehouse
Come to the preview of Unity Week this Thursday! Two men from Minnapolis, one gay and one straight, will bring you a night full of fun improv and educational interactions with a Q and A as a follow up.

Friday, January 27 - Campus Forum on the State of Higher Education in America with Bruce Braley
1-2 PM - Center for Multicultural Education, Maucker Union
Congressman Bruce Braley will be on campus to hold a forum on the current state of higher education.  Students, faculty, and staff are all welcome to attend to address questions like What are the greatest challenges facing US colleges and universities?, How can student aid programs be improved?, Is Congress making wise investments in university research and campus infrastructure?, and Is the content in the classroom and research on campus keeping up with global demand for graduates with specific knowledge and skills?

Friday, January 27 - The Magic Flute with UNI School of Music
7:30 PM - Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center
Mozart’s Masterpiece, first performed just two months before his death the Magic Flute contains High nobility and some of the most soprano arias of all time.  Mozart’s combination of Masonic subtexts and comic buffoonery made this one of his most popular opera’s. Featuring the remarkable talents of the University of Northern Iowa’s School of Music, this production will stir your heart and make you laugh out loud.

Saturday, January 28 - UNI Dance Marathon Dodgeball Tournament
Noon to 6 PM - Upper Level WRC (Gyms 5-7)
UNI Dance Marathon will host its first Dodgeball Tournament this weekend. The tournament will consist of teams of six and cost is $5 per person, due at arrival. Registration forms can be picked up in the Student Involvement Activity Center, in the upper level of Maucker Union, and are due no later than Thursday, Jan. 26.
