Diversity First Retreat: a Note from Angel Banks
October 28, 2009
Hello Student Leaders and Organizations,
My name is Angel Banks and I am the Northern Iowa Student Government (NISG) Director of Diversity Affairs. NISG is planning its Diversity First Retreat, to be held on Sunday, November 15, 2009 from 12-2 p.m. in the Maucker Union University Room, as part of the Diversity First Initiative. The Diversity First Initiative seeks to show NISG's support for diverse student organizations and their unique missions, to promote awareness for issues of accessibility and understanding, and to expose the student body to the cultural and traditional differences that exist within UNI's campus community.

The Diversity First Retreat seeks to promote awareness in the
areas of disability, race, gender, education, culture, and sexual
orientation, and attempts to do so through bringing students from
campus organizations and all walks of life together through a hands-on
interactive experience.
